Szczecin is
one of the cradles of the Polish Solidarity movement from
the 1980th; where on August 30th “the
Szczecin Interfactory Strike
Committee signs an agreement
with government representatives,
it is ... imprecise and
terse regarding political
demands.”
One day later, the agreement is signed in
Gdansk, the strike is finished; the first step to tow down the
“Iron Curtain” is done.
With "Trails of
Solidarity" we will bring you back in time to show you Polands fight
for freedom and independence during the last decades, as well as
during the last three centuries. Our tour starts at the main entrance
of the Szczecin shipyard, follows the route of striking workers from
the december 1970th uprise, visits theirs gravefields on the central
cemetry and does not even finish with a visit at the exhibition
recalling the last 60 years of Szczecin live in the Nationalmuseum.

what, who, where and how to reach MTM means the cooperation of two destination management agencies. One is situated in the polish harbour city of Szczecin, the other in the small town Ueckermünde, just across the border in Germany. Since 1992 MTM organizes tours and travels in North-West Poland and in North-East Germany. Szczecin is the cultural and arts centre of Pomerania, offering a wide range of quality restaurants, cafes, parks, shops and one out of seven Polish national museums. Pomerania is the region at the southern Baltic Sea with 5 national parks, lot's of nature, sandy beaches and nice people. Choose from our wide range of individually designed and personally guided bicycle tours around Szczecin, in North-West Poland and North-East Germany and in the region of Pomerania.  What our holidays include Great Food,
Great Value Comfortable accommodation, good local food, wine and beer come top of our list for restoring that biking energy! During the day we provide plenty of snackstops at local shops or bars and where appropriate many of our tours include all your meals – check out the Information Panel on each trip to find out which meals are included. We cater for vegetarians or special dietary requirements. Vehicle Support Support vehicles are used on all of our group trips. The vehicle carries all your kit -including bike spares, repair kit, first aid, soft drinks, mineral water and even coffe ans tea, leaving you to travel light and enjoy your holiday. If at any point on the trip you want to rest or forget cycling for the day, you can hop aboard the vehicle and put your feet up. On self-guided trips, the vehicle won’t be on the road with you, but we do transfer your luggage between destinations. Bikes and Kit By all means you can bring along your own bike - many people do. But you should read the airline guidelines at the RYANAIR homepage. If you want to take it easy, we will hire an excellent range of at least triple chainring high-end road bikes, and on your notice we throw in a helmet. For your comfort you can bring your own saddle, we will mount it to the rented bike. |

 What we offer Biking for All young or old, man or woman, super fit or a bit unfit. You don’t have to be an Olympic athlete to enjoy our holidays and there’s always the support vehicle to carry you and the bike if you fancy taking it easy. Guided tours in small groups of around 6 -15 people, a wide range of sights, experienced guides and a flexible approach allow us to cater for all levels of ability and fitness, and all ages. There’s also the new ‘self-guided’ trips along the Oder and Neisse rivers where we provide the route maps, luggage transfers and accommodation, and you are free to travel at your own pace. Meeting local people, experiencing new cultures, marvelling at the stunning landscapes and wildlife, sharing it all over a beer with friends - these are all part of our cycling philosophy. And we take the responsibility to the people and places we visit. To us it’s more than just preserving the landscape - we travel in small groups to minimise any disruption to local communities and use facilities owned by local people to help contribute to their economies. how to reach...
